Artist Elissa Gjertson is the founder of Plastik Kembali, a Lombok-based studio creating artworks from recycled material,
upcycled textile and natural fiber. Founded in 2019, the PK mission is to transform one of Indonesia’s biggest challenges – plastic waste harming the land and sea – through one of Indonesia’s greatest strengths: traditional folk art. With a team of nearly 30 local artisans, PK also focuses on fostering creativity and collaboration within the community.
